How was the world created in Slavic mythology?
In the beginning, there was nothing, just vast darkness.
And then, out of darkness came Rod.
Rod created the magical golden egg. The crust broke and out of the egg left Svarog, Lada and Chernabog.
Svarog married Lada and then fell asleep. During his dreams, he saw the entire world, the perfection of it, its beauty and he didn't want to wake up. His wife desperately wanted him to open his eyes again so she gave birth to everything he dreamt of. While she was doing that, Chernabog silently watched. He grew envious of Svarog's beautiful world to be and he sat out to destroy it. But then Svarog woke up and threw him away.
He then stood marveling the perfection of the world. He decided to come to the centre of the world where he found the white stone Alatir. He decided to turn it into his forge. He created more weapons to fight Chernabog if he was to return.
And, oh, he was. But now as a dragon with hundreds of heads and an iron tail. Svarog couldn't fight him alone so he forged more gods to help him. The first one was Dazhbog, the god of Sun. Then Stribog the god of wind. And finally, Semargl, the god - dog of fire.
Combined together, the powerful gods defeated dragon Chernabog and used him as a bull. Namely, Svarog forged a plow and the gods made Chernabog pull it. The large canyon he made was the border that separated the world. The world where gods live is Prav and the dark realm of Chernabog is Nav. The only thing that connects them is Kalinov bridge which will later be used by souls who passed away.
The gods decided to move up and live in the Sky. So they made Lada give birth to a magical Oak, the world tree. Oak's branches were holding the sky, its trunk became Yav, the visible world and its roots grew down to Nav enabling evil things to climb up to Earth and Heaven just to fight gods in desperate need to continue the mission of Chernabog.
(Or at least this is my favourite version of this myth. There are like 20 other, but this one I prefer. I hope you found it satisfying)
V začetku ni bilo ničesar, razen širne teme. In potem je iz teme prišel Rod. Rod je ustvaril čarobno zlato jajce. Lupina je počila in iz jajca so prišli Svarog, Lada in Črnobog.
Svarog se je poročil z Lado in potem zaspal. V sanjah je videl ves svet, njegovo popolnost in lepoto in se ni hotel prebuditi. Njegova žena pa si je obupno želela, da spet odpre oči, in tako je rodila vse, o čemer je sanjal. Med tem, ko je to počela, je Črnobog tiho gledal. Postajal je ljubosumen na Svarogov prelepi svet in se odločil, da ga uniči. Vendar se je po tem Svarog prebudil in ga vrgel stran.
Potem je občudoval popolnost sveta. Odločil se je, da pride do središča sveta, kjer je našel kamen Alatir. Odločil se je, da ga spremeni v svoje nakovalo. Skoval je orožje za boj proti Črnobogu, za primer, če bi se vrnil.
Oh, in se je. Ampak tokrat kot zmaj s stotinami glav in železnim repom. Svarog se proti njemu ni mogel boriti sam, zato je skoval več bogov, da so mu pomagali. Prvi je bil Dajbog, bog Sonca. Potem Stribog, bog vetra in končno še Semargl, bog - pes ognja.
S skupnimi močmi si mogočni bogovi premagali Črnoboga in ga zapregli kot bika v plug. Svarog je namreč skoval plug in bogovi so Črnoboga prisilili, da ga je vlekel. Velika brazda, ki jo je ustvaril je bila meja, ki je ločila svet. Svet v katerem živijo bogovi je Prav in temačno kraljestvo Črnoboga je Nav. Edini prehod, ki ju povetuje je Kalinov most, ki ga bodo uporabljale duše tistih, ki so umrli.
Bogovi so se odločili, da se preselijo in živijo na nebu. Lada je rodila čarobni hrast, svetovno drevo. Hrastove veje držijo nebo, njegovo deblo je postalo človeški svet, pojavni del sveta, njegove korenine pa segajo v podzemlje, kar omogoča zlobnim silam, da se povzpnejo na svet in v nebo, da bi se borile proti bogovom v obupni potrebi po tem, da bi nadaljevale delo Črnoboga.
Ostalo:
